Discover the stunning landscapes of Tierra del Fuego on a scenic journey from Ushuaia to Escondido and Fagnano Lakes.
Travel along National Route 3 through Carbajal Valley, surrounded by mountains, peat bogs, forests, and glacial scenery. Stop at a panoramic viewpoint before visiting a winter center for a brief introduction to the area.
Continue through native lenga and ñire forests to Garibaldi Pass, where spectacular views of Escondido Lake, Fagnano Lake, and the Fuegian Andes await.
Head toward Fagnano Lake, passing old sawmills and beaver dams before reaching Estancia La Carmen. Enjoy time to walk along the lakeshore, explore the trails, and take photos from the piers.
On the return to Ushuaia, stop for lunch with the option to taste traditional Patagonian lamb (not included).

Itinerary and highlights
Enjoy your first scenic stop at the Carbajal Valley Viewpoint, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery. Admire the valley’s peat bogs, hanging valleys, and glacial formations, with time to take panoramic photos.
Stop at a traditional winter center for a short introduction to the area and a relaxing break. Enjoy a mountain coffee while learning more about Tierra del Fuego’s landscapes and winter activities.
Garibaldi Pass Viewpoint — Approx. 30 minutes
Travel through native lenga and ñire forests as the road climbs toward Garibaldi Pass. Stop at the viewpoint for spectacular panoramic views of Escondido Lake, Fagnano Lake, and the surrounding Fuegian Andes.

Continue toward Fagnano Lake, also known as Khami. Along the way, discover traces of the region’s history and natural environment, including old sawmills and beaver dams.
Reach the shores of the immense Fagnano Lake at Estancia La Carmen. Enjoy free time to walk along interpretive trails, explore the lakeshore, and take photos from the piers extending over the water. Cafeteria, snacks, and restrooms are available.
On the return journey, stop at a winter center for lunch. You’ll have the option to taste traditional Fuegian lamb, one of Patagonia’s signature dishes. Lunch is not included and can be purchased on site.
After lunch we will return to the city of Ushuaia leaving each passenger and their corresponding accommodation.
The order of the activities may be modified and will be at the discretion of the guide on the day of the service. the day of the service.
The remaining time is spent traveling through some of Tierra del Fuego’s most beautiful scenery along National Route 3, passing Monte Olivia, Cinco Hermanos, forests, mountains, valleys, and other landscapes before returning to Ushuaia.
Meeting and pickup information
- Transportation to and from most of the hotels in Ushuaia, as long as the hotel has a front desk. In case the hotel does not have reception, you will be informed of the nearest meeting point for the pick up / Drop Off. You can check the pick up schedule for your tour, at the reception of your hotel. We will let them know the pick up time to start the tour. The information is provided the day before the tour, from 19hs PM.
