The Punta Tombo excursion offers the opportunity to explore the largest colony of Magellanic penguins in the world, where thousands of penguins arrive every spring to nest. It begins at the Interpretation Center, where it delves into the Patagonian ecosystem and the life cycle of these birds. Itinerary and highlights
Head to Punta Tombo, the largest Magellanic penguin colony in South America. The trip to the colony takes approximately two hours. Visit Punta Tombo and walk among thousands of Magellanic penguins. You will also see guanacos and some Patagonian hares. (You will be in Punta Tombo for about 1.5 to 2 hours.) Afterwards, return to Puerto Madryn. If your cruise schedule allows, you’ll stop at the replica of the world’s largest dinosaur for photos (15 minutes), and we’ll also enjoy a Puerto Madryn city tour before dropping you off at the dock (approximately 30 minutes).
Meeting and pickup information
- The agency is located at the corner of 1485 Rock Avenue. We will contact you to coordinate the meeting or pick up time for your place of stay in Puerto Madryn.
